Debbie Hogan, MS, CSFC, MSFP, PCC, Trainer, Certified Coach, Psychotherapist, Singapore, USA


Debbie is the owner and Managing Director of the Academy of Solution Focused Training since 2004.  She has been in private practice since 1993 as a coach, trainer and psychotherapist.  She is an executive coach and trainer, and has extensive experience with multi-national companies in oil and gas, banking, IT, manufacturing, mining, pharmaceuticals, and the hotel industry.  Debbie was trained by Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, the developers of Solution Focused practice.  She is a Master Solution Focused Practitioner and Examiner for IASTI.  She is an Examiner and Certified Solution Focused Therapist and Coach with the CCPC.  Debbie is a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF and has trained coaches all over Asia and the US. She has contributed to several book chapters, including The Art of Solution Focused Therapy, Encounters with Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, and co-editor of Solution Focused Practice in Asia.

Dave is the Director and owner of the Academy of Solution Focused Training with over 28 years experience as a consultant,  trainer and coach.  He has degrees in French, theology and counseling and specializes in individual and team coaching, mentoring and leadership development.  He conducts training for organizations in team building, change management, executive leadership and career development. Dave is a Certified Solution Focused Coach with the CCPC, Master Solution Focused Practitioner with IASTI, and a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF. Dave has been training coaches since 2004 runs an ICF accredited coach training program. Dave is a founding member of IASTI and co-editor of Solution Focused Practice in Asia, a seminal book highlighting inspiring case examples across Asia in therapy, supervision, education, coaching and organizational consulting.


►Kirsten Dierolf, MA, MSFP, MCC, Trainer, Organization & HR Developer, Germany

Kirsten Dierolf is owner and founder of SolutionsAcademy and an Associate of Academy of Solution Focused Training.  She designs and delivers international training and coaching programs for global corporations in finance, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, IT and technology fields in talent development. Kirsten has been coaching executives, middle managers and teams for global corporations since 1996.  In 2016 she was certified as Master Certified Coach with the ICF and is an assessor for MCC and PCC certifications. She has been developing programs for Solution Focused Coaches since 2008 and her first Accredited Coach Training Program began in 2015.  Kirsten trained with the founders of SFBT, Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer.  She was past president of the Association for the Quality Development of Solution Focused Consulting & Training, and founder and member of the editorial team for InterAction: the journal of solutions focus in organizations.  She is a prolific writer with over 30 articles and two books, The Solution Tango,  with Louis Cauffman and  Solution-Focused Team Coaching and  a contributor to Solution Focused Practice in Asia.

Edwin Choy, MS, CSFT, CSFC, MSFP PCC, Coach, Trainer, Singapore

​Edwin holds a Master’s Degree, a Graduate Certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy with over 20 years experience as a trainer and coach.  He is a qualified trainer with the National Center for Fathering in the US. Edwin’s passion for fathering led him to co-found the Centre for Fathering in Singapore, an organization whose mission is to “turn the hearts of the fathers towards their children.”  His work involves marriage preparation, marriage enrichment, fathering and work-life balance.  He has been a pioneer in designing outdoor adventure camps for father-child bonding. Edwin is a qualified trainer in MBTI, PREP, Couples Communication I & II and Parent Education Leadership Training. Edwin is a Certified Solution Focused Coach and Therapist from the CCPC, Master Solution Focused Practitioner from IASTI and Professional Certified Coach with the ICF.  He has been a pioneer in the region on “Teacher Renewal” programs and has been training educators and discipline masters in the use of Solution Focused approaches in schools across Asia.  Edwin is an Associate trainer, coach and supervisor of the Academy of Solution Focused Training.  He is a contributor to Solution Focused Practice in Asia.

►Joe Cannon, MAR, MSFP, PCC, Certified Coach, Trainer, USA

​Joe has an extensive background in psychology and counseling, having worked as a psychological examiner, therapist and family counselor across a variety of private, community and faith-based settings. He has worked specifically with substance abusers, juvenile delinquents and he managed a halfway house for the chronically mentally ill. Joe is certified as a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. With a life-long interest in physical fitness, he is an instructor in Shuri Ryu Okinawan Karate and  practices many bodywork modalities including Thai Medical Massage, Soft Tissue Release and Reiki. He is a Master Solution Focused practitioner with IASTI and an Associate Certified Coach with the ICF. Joe is currently a Personal Trainer, Life Coach and an Associate Trainer and Supervisor with the Academy of Solution Focused Training and coach trainer with SolutionsAcademy.


Jane Tuomola, D.Clin.Psy, MSFP, PCC, Therapist, Coach, Trainer, Finland

Jane is a Clinical Psychologist and Coach and a Director of Compass Psychology in Helsinki. She works with individuals and couples using the SF approach, focusing particularly on intercultural adjustment. She worked for many years in the UK National Health Service, focusing on adult mental health before being based in Singapore for 8 years working in private practice and as a Lecturer at James Cook University. She is co-editor of Solution Focused Practice in Asia. She has a passion for helping others learn the SF approach as a supervisor, mentor coach and trainer. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Master Solution Focused Practitioner certified by the IASTI, and a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF. Jane is an Associate of the Academy of Solution Focused Training, both as a co-trainer and supervisor in the On-Line SFBT course as well as doing research projects and organizing conferences.

Dr. Mark McKergow, International Consultant, Trainer, United Kingdom

Mark is an international consultant, speaker and author.  He is a global pioneer applying Solutions Focused ideas to organizational and personal change. His book, The Solutions Focus: The Simple Way to Positive Change, co-authored by Paul Z. Jackson in 2002 was declared one of the year’s top 30 business books in the USA.  He started his career in the electricity industry as a nuclear physicist.  He trained at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto, California.  He has a PhD in physics and an MBA, and writes on systemic thinking and NLP.  He has printed globally, and is an international conference keynote presenter. Mark was a key figure in starting the Solutions in Organization Linkup conference in 2002.  With Jenny Clarke, he founded SolutionsBooks in 2005. He is co-author with Helen Bailey of Host: Six New Rules Roles of Engagement for Teams, Organizations, Communities, Movements and presented a TED talk on this topic.

Hermann Ditzig, MA, MSc, PCC,  Certified Coach Supervisor (CSA), Singapore

Hermann has graduate degrees and doctoral level training in Medical Sociology, Clinical and Social Psychology, Organizational Design/Development, and Leadership. He has worked in almost all of the Asian countries since coming to Singapore in 1984, designing and managing leadership development programs for some of the top 50 global corporations. His passion for leadership development started as a result of a 5 year study he was part of in the US looking at the impact that work experiences have on people's emotional well-being.  The results showed clearly that leaders had a profound impact. That influenced him to leave clinical work and pursue graduate education in Organizational Design/Development and Leadership. His work in corporate leadership development naturally evolved into a focus on Leadership and Executive Coaching, which he has been doing for over twenty years. He has been an active member of the Singapore ICF chapter since 2014, serving as the president in 2016-2017. Hermann is an Associate Trainer with the Academy of SF.
